because its a setup to the shitstorm thats about to happen

its one of the few parts in the manga that actually takes time to stop and show character insight

episode showed kaneki is doing all this so that he doesn't lose anything and because he's just afraid and can't make compromises (like his god damn mom)

touka cant accept kaneki becoming like her brother even though she cares for kaneki

hinami learns that she has to grow the fuck up to help anyone and she can't just sit around doing nothing

shinohara realizes that the old man reminds him of the owl

juuzo likes sandwiches

the bandage girl seemed quite intrested in juuzo tho
