still need a good romance anime
reading DearS while i wait
Video Girl Ai is pretty good. It's written by the person who wrote I''s (Ai and Itsuki from I''s have similar personalities and looks). The story's about this guy Yota, who after finding out that his crush didn't feel the same way, goes to a video store and rents a "video girl" (a tape produced by a company that allows the person in the tape to come out and comfort the purchaser). Unfortunately Yota's VCR was malfunctioning so his video girl, Ai, doesn't always function as intented.
After reading Chobits (I read this first) I found that the two manga are fairly similar. Both have the main female protagonist a product of technology and both are malfunctioning in a way, both deal with the issue of what it means to be human (and what sort of relationship is proper for a human to have with an android), and in both there are external forces trying to seperate the main characters from each other. There's even a frame tale story book in each, though the one in Chobits is much longer and better done.
If you liked Chobits give this one a try I guess.
