because before, the arrancars didn't "resurrect" .... like shinji vs grimmjaw, grimmjaw didn't release and he was missing an arm so shinji didn't really need to bankai it up... plus he's #6......now that they're fighting the top 3 and more i don't think they're too insanely strong that they can take on the arrancars without their mask+bankai
