I know that, but this way they are forced to use it wheras before they were super gods w/ their hollow masks they might have been able to survive w/o them.

because before, the arrancars didn't "resurrect" .... like shinji vs grimmjaw, grimmjaw didn't release and he was missing an arm so shinji didn't really need to bankai it up... plus he's #6......now that they're fighting the top 3 and more i don't think they're too insanely strong that they can take on the arrancars without their mask+bankai

that sounds reasonable, but your probally right. you know that some of the good guys have to get beat up.
