Uhm it could be possible that Van Der Decken can only aim at people he has touched before (not just the last person). Therefore it being rude to have Hodi as one of the people he can target. which is why Hodi said "nah don't worry about it".. basically they were both showing that they trusted each other

Luffy didn't negate the effect of the sea. the only thing he did is hurry up before the sea drained ALL of his power. hence him saying "I'm losing power"... Luffy's fruit isn't a fruit that needs the user to activate it so Luffy is rubber even in water/sea-cuffs.. the Ocean only drains his power.

wrong, vulcanized rubber is the change in the chemical

no. Lucci didn't say that. (and vulcanized rubber naturally made is black.. there are processes to change color, i think, but other than that it is black)

Am I really the only one who wants zoro to have Kings haki? Maybe armaments as a secondary. Sure would help him from getting cut up so badly all the time.

Mainly, zoro with kings + armaments at the very least. He is afterall, the first mate to the future pirate king. I really expect big things out of him

Plus they mainly operate under the ocean, where they have a distinct advantage over a most pirate crews.

I was going to address that very same statement, but it looks like you got it already.

Luffy used COA to protect from the seawater.
