huh? I'm saying there are limits to Aces Devil Fruit. Like there are different temperatures of fire, based on the material that is being burned. What ever the source of aces fire (oxygen, hydrogen, etc) is can only burn so hot. and anything that goes above that temperature is capable of burning Ace. Akainu burned Ace when he was in fire form before.

Now after that Ace forced himself tangible to save Luffy. Yes he could have wrapped his body around the magma to keep from getting hit but then Luffy would have been hit.

fuel



obviously in this case ignition and fuel are taken by the df power

fuel being the power itself

and ignition being when ace activates it


a big characteristic of fire, is that it eats up oxygen, in order to remain fire


magma, is molten rock, it is dense, and has smothering capabilities

what happens when you smother fire? it goes out

They aren't the same. Lava is just rock at a high temperature. So hot that it's changed formes into a gooey liquid (sometimes lava can be runny in which case it's still more viscous than water).

The pepsi / coke comparison is waay flawed. In my opinion the burn aspect is irrelevant because of the smothering concept. But to entertain the idea, sakazuki actaully did burn ace before the finishing blow. We saw it, the commanders shouted it, and sakazuki confirmed it afterwords.

It's the same concept as luffy hitting enel or *water* luffy hitting crocodile. It's a regular punch that will draw blood.

In this case sakazuki's punch was strong enough to smash clean through his exposed chest.



We have the hole punched through because lava smothers fire making ace tangible, and we have smoke because sakazuki is more hot and thus burned the massive punch wound.




But fire can't heat it up enough.

Aces fire is orange, meaning it can only max out at 2,190 °F.

BUT, ace's fire ALSO has red in it. Meaning it's actually an even lower temperature than that, say in the 1,830 °F - 2,010 °F range.

Lava can max out at 2,200 °F.

Ace's fire can't reach temperatures necessary to get hotter than magma. If it did, his fire would be white.

BUT THAT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER because lava smothers fire anyways.



I'm sorry but this comparison doesn't represent the situation at all. Fire is for the most part releasing a mixture of hot gasses. Magma is a highly viscous liquid of sort (to the point where it's a goop). Milk and milkshake is describing two liquids.

Even if Magma is hotter than fire, When you put magma on fire or fire on magma SHIT HAPPENS

and whitebeard stabbed aokiji with HAKI and he still survived without losing any blood.

Those are 2 of many things that author forgot to fix
