Yea the manga got pretty epic over the last couple of months.

I think 10000x is a bit exaggerated but the first one was ended fast i think due to its popularity.
And i think the ending was done by the editor.

My friend told me it's basically a remake of the first serie but with much better graphic, is this true?

Not even close.
Your friend has clearly neglected to watch either one or both of the productions.

First one didn't even follow the manga while the second one is and is turning out much better.
