Kids these days are hilarious. Lets say things that are obvious as fuck and claim that they're profound.... seriously man, stay in school lol.

Making assumptions and insulting those that don't share your cynical views on life is something a child would say.

That quote is profound, it speaks from experience. Thus it's the very definition of profound. Whether or not it's obvious has nothing to do with being profound.

If anything, stating common sense is profound.

Majority of all amazing poets from Shakespeare to Friedrich Nietzsche spoke of nothing BUT common sense.

"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."

One of his most famous quotes is common sense, does that make it any less profound? You sir, are a fool.

The things that Nietzsche said were not overused cliches at the time, nor were they commonsense, that's what made them stand apart, hearing something that's been said a million times over in a million different ways is not intellectually stimulating... I'm not sure why that's so over your head. There isn't a lot out there in anime that's going to stimulate anyone of even average intelligence. Anime is enjoyable and entertaining, but that's it. When a TV show or Anime tries too hard to be "smart", it usually ends up convoluted to the point of being unwatchable.

Monster was an alright show, it's not by any means deep or complicated. That's just one man's opinion and it's obvious that I'm in the minority, as per the norm in this sub of undeserved elitism lol.

Implying everything hasn't been said. Nothing is original anymore. How hard is that to understand?

All I hear is a pseudo-intellectual trying to appear like he knows what he's talking about.

With that logic, no TV show is intellectual. With that logic, nothing you've heard twice is intellectual.

You need to relearn what intelligence is then get back to me.

I don't think I've ever seen a TV show that I would consider intellectually stimulating. Maybe you need to get off your high-horse. What works for you, what's stimulating for you, is not going to be the same for other people.

I never claimed to be intelligent, I have a 140 IQ, which is a dumb as shit way to measure intellect imo. TV shows just don't tend to be intellectually stimulating, they try too hard and end up collapsing or having loopholes fucking everywhere. Movies on the other hand, if you condense something into 1.5-3 hours, you can have something brilliant, something that leaves you thinking for a few days. Once again, that's just my opinion and I'm not sure why you need to resort to attacking me because your opinion differs.
