it depends on the show or movie really, sometimes i really like the voices in the dubs more, but i guess it's all about perspective and which one you saw first, generally the one you see first is the one you get used to and the one you prefer.
i had no problem reading the subs for death note or one piece, but i enjoyed the dubbed voices for yu yu hakusho, soul eater and all of miyazaki's movies. it is what it is i guess.

Used to hate it.

At one point though, I didnt have a choice since some anime I was watching were not available dubbed.

Got used to it, and now I think its much better than dubbed. Everything I watch is subbed now.

No idea why, but I really like how japanese sounds, and the fact that I dont understand a single word makes me focus on the tone, which makes it quite melodic.

I like dubs cuz I is too lazy to read lul

edit: but srsly I would rather enjoy focus on the visuals than having to be forced to look up and down to enjoy both what they're saying and what's being shown

The only reason i like anime is cz it seems natural for it to be subbed. I enjoy reading, and it feels somwhat like i am when i am watching anime. So I am able to sit through and watch an episode or two at a time. Otherwise I'd get bored. I'm not much of a tv person.

After a while you don't realize you're reading them, it's not too bad but I do know what you mean, good thing is I can always pause or go back if I miss anything

Tbh I never noticed there is any/too much talking during actions scenes and when there is a lot of talking, well they just usually move their mouths, nothing spectacular to observe.

Do people actually have to make an effort to read? I haven't thought about subtitles as taking my attention away for as long as I can remember.

Pretty new to anime as a whole but I definitely prefer subbed; has a more natural feel and is always rewarding hearing the piece as it was originally crafted. Had seen Champloo, Basilisk, Gungrave and the original Fullmetal all dubbed but once I was forced to watch Attack on Titan in Japanese I developed a strong appreciation for it. Different strokes for different folks though.
