After finishing Death Note I can say the Anime was amazing, right up until the final episode.

SPOILERS

All of that time evading L and finally out witting him, then to do the same with Near and Mello right up until the end. Just to break down and lose it, as if he really was just a psychopathic serial killer like Near said, he remained calm and cool headed the entirety of the Anime and then finally cracked in the final episode. I can deal with his death, that I just about guaranteed before even half way through the first season, but I expected him to go out more gracefully. Almost as if it was his own plan.

All in all Season 1 and his back and forth cat and mouse with L was fantastic. I realize they needed to tie it together and end it, just not the ending I was hoping for. Personally if I was to rate this out of a 10 I'd give it a 9. I still recommend it if you have not seen it, definitely worth a watch!

I wouldnt have ended it that way either, but what do you know, Light was really on the edge between being the good guy or the bad guy. The fact that he is the main character of the anime tends to make you feel sympathy for him, but at the end, he was arguably a dude who's dream was worth sacrificing as many people as it would need, no matter if they were close to him or not. Maybe he just deserved to end like that.

This being said, DN = L for me, so from the point of his death to the end of the anime, it was pretty much a downfall. Near was nice, but even close to what L was, with his personality and everything.

Anyway, very nice anime. Imo, no anime is like Death Note. And I am talking about the style of the anime, not the awesomeness itself. 9/10

I watched Monster, would rate 7/10. Nice but not much action, more of a psychological thing. Ending was nice though.

Same for Code Geass. Watched the first half, never got to watch R2. Never really got into it. Some people are real fans of this though, so maybe you should take a look, you might enjoy.

Code geass is addicting.

Lelouch vi britinnia, and his voice actor will get you addicted for sure.
I'm really surprised how people are able to extend to such a huge-pure form of voice acting, it's as if he's really an emperor.

Why doesn't Light just use Ryuk's eyes to figure out names? He never even asked Ryuk about it.

He explained it in the manga (and probably the anime), he didn't want to waste his lifespan on the eye deal.

It was early in the series where he tells Light that he isn't on his side or against him
and was mentioned a few times after that

1. dont watch monster that anime is garbage

The only anime you can compare to Death note is -> Code Geass
both main characters are super-humans/intelligent and are doing crazy things.

Agreed. I heard for ever how amazing Monster was, finally watched it and was horribly disappointed. Code Geass and Death Note both have some major plot holes but they are both amazing shows imo.

Ryuk stated multiple times he was "not on Lights side" . In one episode he just kept laughing at Light because someone was giving him a fake name and Light had no idea.

I loved Ryuk's character. The entire time Light had the Death Note Ryuk stood nothing more than a spectator just enjoying the outcome. As if he was another viewer watching the show happen in real time, he never really interfered unless asked to do so by Light (which I believe was only once to fool L). Unlike Em who sacrificed everything she knew for Mira, which is understandable given Mira's past but I prefer Ryuk's take on the entire situation.
