K-On only appeals to the the masses that can enjoy any Anime as long as Moe exists.

A lot of Americans (canadians included) don't understand that concept at all, hence disliked.

I loved K-On, but I love anything moe anyways.

Moe sells in Japan.

A huge percentage of money made between Anime/Manga comes from Japan and hardly any in America, hence why they stick with the same genre rather appealing to what the fat americans think.

I watch anime for entertainment whatever I find interesting and whatever I really like is something I will watch.
If I don't enjoy something I don't really force myself to watch it
