my 12 year old son is starting to like this stuff.  He watches his pokemon and dragonballs.

I know a lot of anime deals with adult themes.  Is there anything that as a parent I should be weary about when dealing with the pokemon and dragonballs?  I really dont want my son to come across nudity (which I dont think there is) or cursing (which I am not certain if exists in the shows).  He got a hold of the discs for the dragonball and I know that disc =s no censorship that they would have if on television.

I remember watching a couple anime shows at a buddies house back when I was younger and remember a lot of skin being shown...such as cleavage and whatnot.

The Slayers. Classic action series, tame violence, nothing overly suggestive.

Trigun's also pretty safe. Maybe Outlaw Star.

re: dragonball, the original's got a few perverted moments, but like, overall really next to nothing. I'd equate it to watching something like dennis the menace as a kid. you catch on to the main themes, but not some of the adult jokes you'd catch as well, an adult. although they really are few & far between.
the dbz sequels are pretty much the standard for shounen powerup shit, it's harmless.

Don't know if Yu-Gi-Oh was mentioned don't remember anything about language or the skin and such.
As for Dragonball when I watched it as a kid I didn't really pay attention to anything else not sure if that's how your kid is. However, later I noticed that Dragonball Kai or something like that totally redid the Dragonball.
They changed Mr. Popo to a purple instead of his original black and just found that childish... I honestly don't believe pay that much attention...
Then again I could be wrong people have said that Muppets promote communism and Spongebob promotes global warming so w/e -.-

Turns out all cartoons I watched as a kid is evil in some way...

I mean.. Gumby is racist, never noticed it as a kid, but apparently it is...

Yep FMA or FMA brotherhood are good

We thinking of the same FMA? Cannibalism, a father sacrificing his daughter, necromancy, genocide, the killing of children, etc...
FMA is obviously not geared toward 12 year olds.

This is why Ika Musume needs a good dub done...  its like a Disney movie, children and adults would both find humor in it and all the adult humor stuff would be over the kids head xD

but most 12 y/o children would not put up with subtitles..

anyways.. get him to love ru box set, you will ruin his life forever but he will love you for it.

<3 this show warms my tundric heart
