ehh that shouldn't have been a very strong speculation.. first of all.. few people in One Piece die.. Especially people affiliated with the straw hats.. + it showed one of them captured.. capture should have been the most common choice.. and it's not like he showed up out of nowhere.. there was a cover story that showed what happened in the chapter 300'

In the end, however, those who did not escape - Crocodile/Mr. 0, Daz Bones/Mr. 1, Bentham/Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, and Galdino/Mr. 3 are sentenced, and relocated, to Impel Down.

e/ read first few pages of chapter 217.. seems to me that they were trying to capture not kill..

i did not , theres no facts that he died , they just said farewell or whatever, nobody actualy dies in this anime..thats why ive put ace / whitebeard separatly.. hehe






ps: Sabo it was in luffy childhood.. that was before the series start

Sabo was given a lot of background and there is no guarantee he is dead....he was only around for 1 reasons

1: to give some more flesh to the flashback

or

2: to come back at a later time

bon clay indeed said goodbyes to the crew that left impel down and was undoubtedly poisoned by magellan thus died

unless BB sucked all the poison from him by the yami yami fruit powers i mean why not? anything is possible, damn oda always surprises us
