I think its De Gauss or something, but I loved Da Capo.
oh, and Evangellion was pretty epic because of the ending, hated the voices though.

as for recs ive seen animatrix but i'm looking for like an actual show, mononoke isn't really what i'm lookin for and gundam is.. well gundam i'm not quite as bad as the general narutard

Watch Ideon. It's a very old mecha show, but has the most deaths by the end of the series than every other anime, probably ever.
