Filler is stuff that isn't part of the actual story. Just stuff put in there so the anime doesn't catch up to the manga.

The bount arc was a filler, as well as the one with captain amagai, and all those random funny episodes they put in that have nohting to do with the real plot.

He probably could have done better but that doesn't make as good of a story. I just want to see that stupid-ass reindeer piece of crap die, dumbest lookin' villain I have seen in quite some time.
