you know when i saw those 3 fish princes i thought they were like underwater version of the 3 generals of marine corp
but i guess not since there taking orders from jimbe

My hunch is that Jimbei's message is what gets this arc started. Too bad the chapters are almost a month apart.

Anyone else love how well Luffy and Ace are fighting together in the whitebeard arc? I never realized why until I read about the past together after the arc, but them fighting together literally their whole lives paid off. Until ace's pride got him killed that is. Shame.

What benefit do you think there was to killing off ace in the series? You'd think he could be a longtime fixture in the show.


Also, who is excited for / thinks that Sabo will return later in the series? I don't think he was actually killed in the explosion... rather he'll return sometime further in the series to kind of bring back that past bond between the three brothers.

I find this extremely interesting because Oda portray's Sabo as a 20 year old adult alongside Ace & Luffy in the manga. There's not much point in showing an adult Sabo if he never reaches of age in the first place.



I'm not 100% certain this is true but I'd like to believe it is, and I'd personally love to see him still alive and reunited.

i agree.
ever since he was introduced i've felt like he will play a role later in the series.
if he did survive, what do you think? is he another pirate captain? or a member of another's crew, such as one of the yonkou?

He's definitely not in a role of prominence, otherwise he would be known to be alive by Ace & Luffy.

So that rules out being one of the 4 (now 3) yonkou or a famous pirate (which I think he is capable of).

Imo he's either a rogue / drifter or got picked up in the revolutionary army.

oo, i didnt even think about the revolutionaries.
i can see him being a division commander for one of the yonkou, or something like that.
luffy doesn't know anything about anyone, haha, so that could work out.

sabo is def someone I see coming back...I don't see how they could talk about him so much, build him up and not use him.


Now that ace is gone, Sabo is Luffys only connection left to the past on that island tbh.

True, I think he'll be a welcome character back in the series. I'm really excited to see it happen

Losing ace might bring the two even closer then they were before.

Although Luffy's done really well moving on, Sabo might become even more important to Luffy.

Ace seems pretty savvy about the pirate realm having been with whitebeard in the new world and gotten a head start before luffy.

He would know of Sabo's survival if he were a commander.

Again, I don't think he's in a position of prominence.

It has to be relatively secretive imo or just not in mainstream light.
