I also just read this comment: '' Man this episode feels like true season 1 finale '' pretty correct. if they included this in the first season and ended the 1st season with 13 episodes it would have been one of the best endings ever.

He loses his memory and joins the investigators.. shit this thread is just pure spoilers..
