if you read, Jimbe was thinking about Arlong, but decided that thinking about Ace was more important.

When I read it before, I thought he was thinking about asking Luffy to forgive his race

But a couple of pages earlier, Jimbe said "I know my race is violent" and blah, and he really doesnt seem too attached to how his race looks to other people

So then I thought... What if Jimbe was actually going to say that he saw arlong escaping with them, but never got a chance to tell luffy, and was more concerned about saving ace than hunting down Arlong again?

imo, he wants to punish arlong for ruining the name of the sunny pirates.
arlong was said to be imprisoned in east blue, not impel down, so it wasn't arlong escaping that he saw.

the sunny pirates hated humans

im curious of the speculation that arlong was as strong as jimbei once

imo, arlong was too strong to be in east blue in the first place. He either
a. got transfered
b. escaped east blue and either
-----1. got recaptured and was seen escaping
-----2. was seen in the grand line "outside" of prison and escaped from Jimbe

Possibilities are endless, but we cant totally count him out


and for the record, I really dont think it is arlong, but it could be

and as I said before, Jimbe really doesnt seem to care what others think of fishmen, and I doubt he cares about a bad name for an "all-violent-fishmen" crew which didn't even have any respect anyways. Respect not meaning strong, since everyone knew they were strong, aka why he's a Shimbakuwhatever. Respect as in how humans see them. And the crew was already disbanned anywaysb

also, why did jimbei leave the sunny pirates?
maybe it was a rift between arlong and himself?

to me, it's more lifely that the boss is a relative of arlong's.

the language really seems to me that it isn't arlong, but that the boss(as well as the crew) cares about what happened to arlong, even though it was so far away.

the sunny pirates were disbanned when Jimbei became a S__________.
