I was thinking maybe they could get into an accident of have a disease where the only way to help them would be a blood transfusion, which they would get from Goku. Maybe that saiyan blood would help make them stronger.......?

Nah saiyan and human blood shouldnt mix. Im think more along lines of some special training and maybe elder kai unlocks potential. Even galactic space patrol and gods know that humans yes i meant humans not mortals,are not strong. Yamcha may be exceptional but is still a human which in this show makes his potential near obsolete.

How about reviving kid buu. Revive cell and go to the past or another timeline and have him absorb a super strong enemy that is weakened so he can easily absorb them and he easily gets uber powerful. Call future trunks back

Nope.

I thought about reviving cell. Kid buu wouldn't work, he's a being of pure destruction, he could never follow rules and he'd likely kill his own team. I do like reviving cell though, that could work well.
