ichigo's dad could've retired to been in royal squad considering in the pendulum arc, they said that they have recently lost a lot of captains... thus rose, urahara, etc promoted to captains.........

it makes sense if you think about it that his dad is apart of the royal squad (i think there's a chance for this, i'm not saying he 100% is).....karakura town is the town necessary to create the king's key.... thus why ichigo's dad is there... he could've just lived in some other random town if he didn't want any chance of becoming a shinigami again...... so, by living in kurakara town he can protect the king etc from the outside

I don't think they were worried about hte kings key being created before they found what Aizen stole. I don't think that Ichigo's dad is with soul society otherwise I doubt they would have let him have kids on earth

Although there is the possibility that they didn't know, but I think that might be hard to keep secret.

it doesn't have to be aizen... this is just common sense... you always have to have someone protecting on guard/outside..... like in my army.. you always have people on watch ... that's just like saying the gotei 13 should be disbanded prior to the rukia arc because soul society wasn't in danger and they didn't know about aizen.... that's just really stupid, no offense.

I don't think that they percieved the kings key as a threat before that is what im saying. They have something protecting on guard, its the royal guard

You could also call the Gotei 13 the "watch guards" for the key.

meh.. proly , but we have no clue what exactly is the Royal Guard.. and whats their power. We also dont know why does Aizen intend to open the gate.. hes 3 top espadas are not a match for so many captains + vaizards...and we also dont know whats the *gasp* in power betwen squad captains and RG , there are so many questions.. about Aizen... RG...Why the Ukitake + Kyouraku arent RG? they cant be so weak , or the Yamamoto ;/..... fillers was suposed to help us understand some shits.. like the movies;/

this is the king of soul society we're talking about... protection from the outside as well as that from the inside is necessary..... like midevil period, you don't just tell everyone to guard inside the king's room... no, you have someone protecting the gate too, as well as the hallways, etc....and the gate in this case would be karakura town

Like I said, the Gotei 13 is probably the protection on the outside.

newayz... gotei 13 protects SOUL SOCIETY.... zero squad protects THE KING.... to protect the king from the outside you need to protect the gateway to THE KING which is located in KARAKURA TOWN....
