That's a whole different situation. Goku wanted gohan to unleash his ssj2 form to beat cell because he "knows" gohan can beat cell while he himself can't.

Maybe Goku "knows" he can wreck anyone in any universe lol.

It's the same thing. Goku does stupid Shit like this all the fucking time. Letting frieza fully charge up and letting cell heal back to full. He always wants the best possible fight imaginable and it always works out because it's a damn anime lol.

what LOL he gave cell a senzu bean because it wasnt fair - gohan was shown to be scared to fight what if something went wrong? its the same mentality he even is quoted saying because he's used his power its not fair.

He gave cell a senzu bean because goku has always been wanting to be fair in a fight. And goku didn't expect gohan to fight scared remember, piccolo was the one telling goku that gohan really isn't a fighter at heart. Goku was relying on gohans ssj2. Take note when he found out about beerus weakness when whis revealed it was to kill kaioshin and goku said it wouldn't be fair.

Goku cares more about good fights than he does being a hero or saving people
He's pretty much become a villain

The difference is Goku knew Gohan could beat him. He had reason to believe it too, since Gohan said prior to the fight that he didn't even think Goku was fighting at full strength. Gohan probably could have beaten cell without going SSJ2 if he had fought seriously from the beginning.

And maybe Goku can stomp everyone or maybe he knows Vegeta can or some shit.

aren't they trying to get rid of ssj2 no-one seems to use it anymore, might be some lightning at some point but i can't remember it and i'm sure it's just one of the different ways they can power up super, they never mention it by name at least

i get the feeling they want it to be super saiyan->god but ssj3 pops up now and again coz fans can't forgot the awesome hair
