I've yet to beat Last Hope also....not sure why.

SO2 is still my favorite.

Also, people should watch Star Ocean EX (The Anime) before they play SO2. That way you can play through the never made second season.

lol it really depends if the manga came first most of the time like 99.99% it is true
if the anime or light novel or something else was first then not all the time

in this case mirai nikki manga was first so 99.99% it being better than the anime

This is all pure speculation from personal experience. Please don't take it seriously.

TL;DR - The original form is most likely always better than the adaptations (There are some exceptions).

Have not reached that far in the manga but it is better

but sometimes mangas have more story than animes

like kami nomi no shiru sekai, the manga is much futher than the anime, i dont even know if there is going to be a 3rd season
