They really should have made this anime long running. It would have definitely been a massive income earner. Such a shame.

Should have ended before Alfheim Online IMO.

Yes they should have expanded the time spent in Aincrad significantly. When I started watching I assumed they would have 100+ episodes and draw things out like most animes. I was surprised they would skip 10 floors an episode. It would have been perfect if they had done 40-50 episode in Aincrad.

Yes, Alfheim should have been left out entirely, but they could have expanded the Sword Art Online part a lot.

Yeah, I definitely agree. It seemed incredibly rushed.

The problem I had with Alfheim Online was the game itself and the meaning behind it. I found SAO to be rather interesting because every fight matters when in-game death concludes your real life. You could really feel the struggle behind it all. Also there was a sense that Kirito was working hard to beat the game, whereas in Alfeheim online he is incredibly strong even though there is no realistic reason as to why he should be. There is also no reason that Asuna should have been let go upon Sugou's defeat, or any reason that he should be defeat-able for that matter.

thing is the very first SAO novel started on floor 74, and had episode 1 stuff as a flashback
He was strong in ALO cause he had amazing reaction time from his time in SAO and speed played a huge part in how damage worked in ALO

The server data is directly copied from SAO to Alfeheim online. When Kirito first enters Alfheim online he has all of the same skills as his character in SAO as well as the same items. My point was just that it is not realistic that it uses the same data.

Alfeheim Online is classic anime "Oh wait, there's more!" Just continuation for continuation's sake.

Well since the company took over the SAO servers why would they not use SAO data over spending millions to create another VRMMORPG from scratch

and honestly ALO was favourite arc in the books, it was done better in the books though, anime lacked an entire chapter which is important for a future side story

Yeah I haven't touched the books.

It doesn't make sense to use the same player data from a previous game, you would want people to start off from square one.
