For something that had such a good first 3 episodes, turned into your standard harem garbage you kids eat up.
Plot shifted from actually having a plot, to random subplots that have no correlation with the original one. You could actually say Ep 4 onward is a different anime entirely.
We're 8 episodes in and it's delved into side characters more than the stereotypical girl, the world, or the MC.
Name off every cliche ever in anime, and you've got this pile of garbage. Another good plot ruined by basement dweller fantasies.
Disagree. I got to watch 20 in a row so I'm pretty lucky but it is quite obvious that every single situation in each of his sequences feeds to feeligns he may or may not feel to create a sense of suspense for teh watcher/reader depending on what medium you use.
Harems aren't only in Japanese literature too. In almost all stories that involve romance there is more than one possible romance that is hinted throughout and often times where love may be requited or not requited.

Let me quote someone else to just... say no to this.
"To put it simply, Re: Zero has absolutely no substance. It's another generic, modern anime that tries to be edgy, but fails miserably. Annoying-ass GENKI BOI protagonist? Check. Decently cute main chick with a ~*QUIRKY*~ personality? Check. Flat chested side girls who will probably end up falling for the protag in the future? Check. You have your tsunderes, loli's, weird fa**ots, mary sue's, mascot characters, etc. There is nothing unique about any of the characters that made any one of them stand out to me individually."
He put it just fine.
This is also false. Almost every character has substance and a place inside the story.
