I was thinking that they both had the same disease, but since Nagato probably used more chakra or had it longer, the disease progressed further in him than Itachi. Giving him those symptoms.

I think nagato used his rinnegan so much that now he's that "little monster" and more time he uses it more injuried he becomes

thats kinda crap.. since rinegan saw suposed to be the greatest eye tehnique..

Konan: Nagato, don't overdo it. You've used up so much chakra..

maybe it's because of the insane amount of chakra special eye techniques use at once? or maybe keeping their eyes active 24 7.... itachi ALWAYS had the sharingan on him, whereas sasuke and stuff only activated it when they needed it.... maybe it's cuz itachi always has to look out for surprise attacks or something.
