No no, that's not why Puck went to destroy the world. She says that her only reason for living is Emelia and now that reason is gone, so she will destroy the world. Has nothing to do with a contract. Remember, Puck claims to be Emelia's mother, so I think her wrathful decision is appropriate. The idea that Puck is Wrath makes more sense in this light. If she were forced by contract, that wouldn't be wrath at all.

also Puck is apparently male.

he just likes to refer to Emilia as "my daughter" (it's kind of a playful like thing i believe)
since he's likely much older than she and protects her in various ways (magic, and by judging people intent like he did with Subaru)
so he's kind of like a parental figure in a way.

I see, makes sense. Although I doubt he(?) could be playful right before he's about to annihilate the world. "My daughter" has to have some serious aspect to it.

I just kinda assumed that Emelia's mother (father?) died and turned into this spirit, or something along those lines. It wouldn't be too far fetched of an idea because we can assume that Emelia is pretty old considering her half-elf lineage and all the banter about age between her and Subaru.

I forget... Did someone refer to Puck as a "he" in the anime?
