I think it is just wishful thinking. He's had plenty of time to wow us throughout the entire war arc and aside from Madara showing up and slaughtering thousands it's all been mediocre.

It's going to be funny coming back from the new year and we're still in TnJ mode from Kakashi to Obito.

Hrm I disagree i had plenty of wow factors its just the last few chapters that have been silly to me.

Just about all the characters who were introduced and even some of the older ones(chouji realizing his potential to be the strongest etc). They also werent just thrown in and some even got some meaningful background stories.

i wonder when will kabuto make his reappearance.. maybe when madara's about to win, kabuto pops out of nowhere and saves the day?

There is a good chance that Kabuto will make a reappearance. It seemed Itachi sympathized with him, so he provided him with more than enough information for him to figure it out. No matter what, there is a lot for Kabuto to ponder about. While Kabuto is a troubled person, he is still one of the brighter and talented characters in the series. The real question is how long will it take him to accept himself?

Eh, not me. Not too much from the war has really impressed me. I was hoping the series would take a turn and become darker, which it kind of did but not nearly as much as I had hoped.

pretty much guaranteed he'll accept himself and get out of the loop.
