the thing is there's nothing to keep going with.
he no longer has Revival which was a key plot point, and he caught the killer and had a happy ending.
The manga is finished so no more source material.

anything more would be forced and very likely disappoint.
would be like a whole season of filler.
lol


the most we'll likely get would maybe be an OVA or 2 from that Side Story Manga Flopps linked. (if it sells)
side stories rarely ever get full on anime's.
that's what OVA's, specials and maybe even the odd movie is for.

Revival hasn't happened since. That doesn't mean he can never have it again.
Another season would be another killer/incident.
Obviously would need another manga season though.

Whether it would be good or not, can't say.
Just saying it's definitely possible and I'd be interested in it if it happened.

Satoru said himself during that last jump back that he knew it was going to be his final Revival.
or did you miss that?

That's an opinion of the character...

The butterfly did show up again. He was going to go in one direction but he followed it the other way. Perhaps revival would have happened again until he met Airi.

it wasn't displaying that he still had his ability.
because if it was he would have traveled back as soon as he seen it. (since that's how it works)

that final butterfly was used as a sign of sorts to bring them together again. (she was one of of the people he saved by going back after all)
And because he likely wanted to meet with her again since he was hanging out under the bridge where they spent a good amount of time and opened up to each other.

it was used for that happy ending piece.

You seem very closed minded. Could easily have another season for this manga/show that would work fine with the story.

Also, almost every superhero ever has had a moment where they lose their powers and don't notice until they try to use them...

i'm anything but.
i just see the facts that have been displayed and how the story is over.

if there was anything there that could have been used for a another Season then maybe.
but they ended it pretty good.
Satoru saved his mom and the kids, caught the killer, finally made it as a Mangaka, reunited with Airi etc..
And you can't ignore and say it's his opinion when he said it was his final Revival.



if they pulled a season 2 out of there ass, which is unlikely
it wouldn't be about Satoru.
since the way the ability worked doesn't fit well with solving everyday crimes.

Satoru was only ever thrown back a few mins before when Revival activated.
The only reason he jumped back years was because the killer had DEEP ties within his childhood.

so if a new killer popped up he would literally have to be within the area all the time.
just no plot there for a series where the MC solves a crime within 5mins each time a person gets killed in the area.
there's also no traveling back years anymore since he was in a coma for more than half his life (nothing to travel back too)


i guess superhero's might have been a bad example, but that still kinda works.
if you use that final glimpse of the blue butterfly at the end as a further example (in combo to what i mentioned before)
even though it appeared before him he didn't travel back.
so you could use that sign as another way to show his ability was gone.

Pretty much agree to this.

I thought the anime ended beautifully, and it was just a great show.

One of my all time favs.
