oro explained this and blatantly said what jugo's "cursed seal" was however it could also be that susanoo is living in some way.

the cursed seal was derived from jugo he himself isnt a cursed seal(at least not one from oro but natural) but apparently senjutsu

basically jugo's trait, or the reason why he turns beast mode, is because of senjutsu and what it does to the body, and since Sasuke and jugo's dna and abilities can mix, they were able to create a senjutsu susano

the only reason, it looks so weird is because that's how's jugo's genetic line adapted to it. technically, whenever naruto turns into sage mode, he's essentially turning into a toad, he is just able to maintain his human characteristics unlike jiraiya.
