if it werent from writing lol the uchiha definitely has the edge in combat, obito for instance was/is trash lulz and when he got the 1 or 2 tomoe sharingan he took out what jounins? The clans and not villages all they did was fight so of course all they saw was comrades dying suffering etc so there should have technically been a shit ton of sharingan users back then.

How is wood technique so damn rare in that the 1st is the only "real" user. I mean its just earth and water. Haku was just water and wind for ice but that was basically his whole clan same with kimmaro but this dude the 1st in a big ass clan of senju was the only one who used wood?

I dont think wood ice lava should be kekkai genkai anyone with the 2 natures and know how should be able to use them now the eye shit, bone structure i cant think of others are fine. Then the dust shit from muu and tsukikage bloodline selection or whatever thats fine since its 3 i think and ofc the 4+ nature from obito(10tails). I dont think many people bodies can handle 3+ so that is special in of itself but kakashi i think definitely said most if not all jounins know 2 natures? Or is it you have to have that as your element to use it? like naruto is wind so he would have to also be attuned to water to use ice?

yes they have 2 natures but the thing is
its hard to meld 2+ chakra natures together unless you're of the bloodline

What's interesting is that even though the Uchiha have defined, unique eye techniques in the form of a kekkei genkai the Senju were still as equally battle adept. As far as we know, the Senju didn't really have exclusive techniques but it would be nice to know exactly what kind of things they were capable of. Maybe they were extremely physically durable or had huge amounts of chakra?

I'm not really sure why Kishimoto decided to make the ability to combine elements into one a unique ability. I think it's because that the combined versions are just inherently wtf stronger so it would undermine the abilities of the single elements, which we have limited knowledge of as is.

I never said it wasnt hard but that is besides the point, Im wondering why the 1st is the only person with wood release(naturally) and not his entire clan like haku's ice clan more specifically or like uchiha/kimmimaro's clan. Hell their are 2 people who can mold 3 types to use Dust techniques but no one else especially when its a giant clan can do earth and water to make some plants?

Mei can do boil and lava but she cant take the earth from one and the waer from another and do earth pfffffft.

The senju werent equal they were clearly above(madara/izuna vs 1st/2nd more so the 2nd being on par with madara/izuna seeing as how he doesnt have wood(lulz). I am not sure if powerful chakra is the same as a lot but i just assumed both clans had overwhelming chakra and plenty of it. Physically durable i dont think so lol he was going to kill himself with a kunai im pretty sure raikage father/son, kimmimaro, gaara sand armor(yeah these are actual ninjutsu or bloodlines but meh).

What i find strange is madara made it seem like the 1st could do exactly what tsunade did(her immortality seal) but without having to use ninjutsu so how the hell was he going to stab himself in his chest/abdomen and die? if he instantly regenerates

unless i missed something, kimimaro's bloodline was extremelyyyyyyyyyyyyyy rare.... kimimaro might've been the only one in his clan at the time to possess the bloodline...

but to answer your question, wood-release is different from the other kekeigenkai's in that it breathes life from nothing....this ability is super hard to control and requires really high life force to maintain... hashirama was gifted with massive stamina, endurance, and chakra... 1 random mutation into a suitable subject is all it takes... obito even said that hashirama's cells and abilities were hard to control which probably why you don't see him using it at all, and it is demonstrated by danzo turning into a tree......also, yamato was the only one out of several test subjects that was able to fuse with hashimara's cells, and even then he couldn't fully use it to its potential which indicates the difficulty of wood release.

another possible explanation could be that there were very few others who could use wood release, but they died in the war against the uchiha (remember, both sides suffered massive casualties)
