Agreed. Of the 5 current kage, I'd say Kakashi would probably scrape Gaara and the mizukage. He probably doesn't hold a candle to any of the 5 hokage except for maybe Tsunade.

Kakashi died facing 2 Pains, including the deva path, the real pain in the ass with Shinra Tensei. Also, if you're going to include 3rd raikage, you have to include 2nd tsuchikage and 2nd mizukage, imo. I think we've seen enough from all 3 that makes them just about equal. The latter two make up in ninjutsu what the 3rd raikage has in taijutsu. Between Kakashi and Obito, I think the former is just a better fighter, and always has been.

Nah the 2nd mizu and tsuki are prolly tier 2 at best. Madara clearly outpaced Muu(i dunno what the situation was but muu sat their as madara raped the 3rd tsuki). The 2nd tsuki and mizu were basically equals so yeah. The 3rd raikage faced the 8 tails solo on what i would assume is more than 1 occasion he also faced 10,000 fodder for 3 days and 3 nights? He had to tank genjutsu taijutsu and ninjutsu numerous times. He tanked naruto's shit and was only shown to be injured by himself(prolly died from exhaustion too) so yeah he definitely up their with top tier.

Again no one is debating kakashi vs obito im saying with kakashi's wound he deserves death(again :). Kakashi held his own in a team of 10? vs 2? so a 2 pains vs kakashi and 2 others ahhhh i dunno i dont by it why do the villains get called for "teaming" but heroes dont? There's no doubting that the Raikage had immense durability and strength but I still don't see why the two I mentioned couldn't be as strong as him. The Mizukage had immensely powerful genjutsu and ninjutsu and what about the particle release? That element disintegrates anything it hits. I'd have to think that the 2nd Mizukage and Tsuchikage could have held their own against tailed beasts. Minato did, and their strength is legendary, just as the Raikage's is.

Why wouldn't Kakashi be an absolute nightmare 1v1 vs ANY opponent? Mangekyo Sharingan, ultimate assassination technique that's known to kill when it lands, excellent speed, prowess in all 3 types of jutsu, said to have copied 1000 ninjutsu, genius strategist...pretty much anything you could want in a fight. He's also shown since part one that he has significantly more stamina even without the 9 tails buff. Also, Kakashi's wound isn't as bad as Obito's. Besides, people live when they get pierced through their torso in this manga, that's nothing new. See: Sasuke and Danzo.

No No No the 3rd defeat or pulled a draw hell the 8 tails said the dude beat him. No seal like minato this dude straight up tanked that big bitch to the point of exhaustion then he was sealed. he fought 10,000 Ninja for 3days 3nights. The 2nd died to Kinkaku+Ginkaku+(some say kakuza but i dunno) 18 others. Come on manga or not 20 elite ninja vs 10000 mixed? The raikage seemed to have no flaws 10000 shinobi none of them had genjutsu? ofc they did he still survived 3days 3nights! yes it can be considered a rumor but then we have the tailed beast fights 1 v 1 not a whole village then you come in and seal him.

Can we get some tldrs?

While there are a handful of overpowered shinobi, there are few that could beat Kakashi easily. He is a well-rounded ninja, and has high intelligence and resourcefulness on his side. He can use jounin level lightening, fire, water, and earth abilities; Kakashi has great speed and shown remarkable taijutsu, and not to mention he can use some genjutsu. Kakashi also has the sharingan at his disposal, and there is still room for improvement.

Pain even admitted that Kakashi would be a threat if left alone. Kakashi is not a joke. How many shinobi have such a wide variety of abilities and capabilities?

Kakashi is a match for all the Akatsuki members except Pain and Itachi. I am not saying he would automatically win all fights, but could definitely have a chance of winning. You could replace Sasuke with Kakashi in the Deidara fight, and you could replace Sakura with Kakashi in the Sasori fight. Kakashi could make the same observations as Sasuke, and is the more intelligent between the two. Kakashi is faster and has better movements than Sakura, and has the sharingan.

Since the 3rd Raikage was mentioned – it seems to me that Kakashi could also win this fight. If Naruto could make the connection to his weakness, there is a good chance Kakashi would have made the connection, too.

Kakashi is underestimated, imo.

You need to realize something though..
Naruto more than likely wouldn't have beaten pain without kakashi's sacrifice and the information he obtained from all the fights.. That is something that irritates me about all the naruto fanboys squealing about his success..
Don't downgrade kakashi because he died to pain.. and comparing the pains kakashi fought vs the one who was purely support (i guess 95% support.. he could kill people but he was not specifically meant for it) is just stupid.


I personally love kakashi for a reason noone else seems to mention..
He is the only ninja who has an extreme power and doesn't seem to use it immediately.
With this, I refer to kamui..

Naruto sees trouble? Ninetail mode
Sasuke sees a running fly? SUSANNO AMATERASU SUSANNO AGAIN SMASH
Kakashi fights with a variety of techniques, and then uses kamui as a ninja should, as a last resort so enemies don't have a chance to see your move and learn from it.

Another thing I have wondered is how would pain of countered kakashi's kamui if he started out using that.. I don't think his shinra tensei would push back a dimensional rift.
