Oh that was my bad then i assumed team 10 was naruto them but if its shika them then you were right. still hinata has no major feats and imo anyone could have died out there with pain and triggered naruto going 8 tails. her death was the only significant thing in that fight(i dont see her 1 sided love being a big deal). kiba was narutos first "hokage" rival and it showed itself again when sasuke said he was going to become hokage. Had naruto not tamed the 9tails neji's death may have resulted in the same rage mode. lol shino i honestly cant think of anything however i did believe shino to be as strong if not then at least capable of defeating anyone around his age in part 1. Its konoha not "hokage" therefore showing its strengths i find nothing wrong with that, steady improvement from narutos class is definitely needed to make us not forget about them.
Agreed. I think Kishimoto could have done more to incorporate Naruto's classmates into the story. I like a lot of their abilities but I just haven't seen enough of them to care about them at this point. I think Shino WAS one of the top of his class in part 1. He was never shown blundering or faltering in any way. We never learned much about his ninjutsu like we did with Shikamaru.

Think about how silly this show would seem if Naruto didn't have people from whom he was trying to be acknowledged. Plus it would make them the only set of kids their age in a world of war and chaos. It is important for Naruto's friends to be there, but now it just seems like that is their ONLY purpose--to be there. We've seen way more of Akatsuki and the like than any of them in part 2. I personally could have done with more story arcs similar to the Hidan and Kakuzu arc, where team 10 ends up playing a huge role.
