They revived him. Probably twisted his brain a bit doing so.. Before he still had a attachment to Shu. Which is probably why he didn't take his arm off back at the beginning. Also he wasn't 'sure' if it would actually transfer

I hope Lt. Dan comes back to life and saves the world. He's the best male character in this anime. Ayase is the best female character.

yo ok. i have a feeling this is what will happen.

Gai is actually on Shu's side and only cut his arm off so gai could get the power but realized that Shu's void (because gai can see other peoples voids) is actually the kings power himself. Gai will pull out Shu's void which will basically be his arm that he lost and they will team up and be kings together!
