I find it's pointless to dwell on what's "better" vs "favorite," especially here.
Completely off the topic and, frankly, imo, yerDoingItWrong.jpg if you have a list of anime you've watched like at MyAnimeList and you have it rated by "how good you think it is" rather than "how much you like it"
"My list has three things with a score of 10 and I don't actually like any of them" xD...
Well. I just mean a "top 3" is a strange question. Top 3 what? Top 3 I'd recommend to someone? Top 3 I think were well written? Well animated? Overall enjoyment? Staying power?
I'm just going with a handful that I have emotional attachment to that always make me think of certain people who aren't in my life anymore, and help me think of more harmonious times. Effectively...

Not necessarily. your favourite might be because it has a character you really like, action sequences, etc but not the best plot. or you might think an anime is very well done but not really your genre. or it might be your favourite because you watched it with your dad since you were 6 and associate it with happy memories even if it's not that great. etc etc
^ that sort of thing.
As a critic, the list would be completely different. But when it comes to personally feeling that warm fuzzy feeling inside? That's those three that I posted, haha.
