I watched H2O: footprints in the sand, it was pretty good, made me feel sad/joyful in the end... I want something like that
I tried angel beats but it was hard to get through the first 3-4 episodes and I haven't finished it yet, should I keep trying?
I also heard clannad was really good, but the artwork for season 1 is a bit of a turn-off for me.
If you don't like the first 4-5 episodes of Angel Beats I really wouldn't finish it since it doesn't really get any better in my opinion. Supposedly almost everyone that loves the anime cried in the last 1 or 2 episodes but I just didn't care for most of the characters.
Very worth watching Clannad and you will easily get used to the art style.
Now for some stuff not mentioned here
One Piece: .......yeah you probably won't cry unless you get invested in the characters and story and after 300+ episodes...but seriously I never thought I would ever feel these emotions for a *SPOILER* boat.
Major - prob won't make you cry but there is a very emotional part early on in the first season
Gurren Lagann - prob won't make you cry but there is an emotional part early on
Gintama - another one you need to be invested in the anime and characters - some very emotional scenes
there are probably a lot I am forgetting
but yea I definitely agree with everyone else on Clannad, Anohana, Kokoro Connect, and Toradora. They all have a lot of emotional parts.
