Not many people like Sunohara, don't worry about that. He's more of a comic relief.

The sad parts don't really come around in the first season. a couple scenes that make your emotions jump, but nothing that will make you want to cry.

Just watch the first season, then go watch the second season(After Story) The tear jerking starts at episode 15 in the After Story.

Nothing has made me feel like Clannad did. As someone else mentioned it's more of the second season. There were a couple of sad parts in the first season, but nothing like After Story.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm a completely normal person who is usually rather emotionless and I'm also active duty military. After Story made me cry like a little girl

Oh yeah, why'd i forget that? So there's 5 real heart pulling sections. Either way, this anime has the complete feeling in it

So far i've yet to find someone who was truly unaffected by Clannad in entirety

One of my friends claimed to not feel anything from it, but when i was on skype with them one day, i linked a few youtube links of the sad parts and i visibly saw their expression change when they viewed it and logged off cam immediately. The only way you couldn't really cry is if you are cold hearted and don't care about anything(in which you probably wouldn't be watching anime anyways if you were)

Lol I agree. I'm the type of person that really gets into a show, so it affected me a lot. But even if you aren't it'll pull at them feels or you're heartless for sure

I'm the same way I wish there was more anime like Clannad, but Kanon is probably the closest it's going to get overall, and that had nothing near the same feels.

That is very true. Was still a good show but not the same as Clannad. Itazura na Kiss was pretty good and is similar to After Story in the sense that it goes beyond them just getting together.
No where near the same feels though.

I would suggest however getting your hands on the original Clannad Visual Novel if you want more It's interesting to see the differences.
I think they did a really good job of converting it over.

Hardest part about it is that whenever that damn dango song comes on while I'm trying to play the feels hit again

Already been playing the VN The VN just makes me feel terrible for Ryou and Tomoya. lmfao. Not a Happy End possible for her since her Happy End is actually a dead end for Kyou xD Lol.

I've been listening to Nagisa's Theme for a while now, it's a relaxing song to sleep to. It used to affect me badly, but now it's more of a relaxation tune for me. It takes a while to get used to it after the Anime, but it is possible xD Lol.

Farewell at the foot of the hill/Dango Daikozuko is the most emotional song in the story. So it's expected to remind you of the feels

If you haven't yet, listen to the music box version of Farewell at the foot of the hill. i find that one hits harder than the original, as you hear that one more often than the original in the story.
