You mean like those people who say Baka, Sugoi, Aregatao, etc etc and think they speak jap? ;O

Yup . Pretty much , people don't understand there is a thing called sentence structure , and replacing an English word for a Japanese one isn't it .

You forgot Kawaii lol

well when it came to naruto and bleach i couldn't wait for a dub to come out so i would watch it subbed but

if there was a dub for them then i would watch that you seam to think im betraying the anime in some way by watching in another language other than the one intended for it

i can see how you might think that but because of dubbed versions of anime it came to America if there where no dubs than America would not have even heard of anime

but i honestly think that anime is better in the language you can understand it

lets say you speak jap than ofc your going to watch it in jap

but if you speak English and theres an English version of that anime than your more likely to watch it in English

same for Spanish there are some Spanish dubbed anime as well

p.s.

if there was a good free website that taught how to speak and understand Japanese i would love to no about it

the only regret i have for watching dubbed anime is there are alote of undubbed anime that i have not Sean

so learning jap would be awesome

... I wasnt even thinking of any kind of betrayal. Your lack of understanding astounds me

etc etc ;O I get a lot of: Desho? Darou? Ne? NANI!? Eh!? Nai Nai Nai and a lot more. I want to smack them so hard :[

-- Edit: And No. Watching something in its ORIGINAL LANGUAGE is always better than watching it in a language you understand. Any Korean Movie? Better be korean. Jap? Better be Jap. Indian? Better be indian. Spanish? Better be spanish . .

I personally think people who watch dubs are bastards. Too lazy to read? Don't watch the anime at all please and thank you

that is what you sead so it sounded like you hated people who watch dubbed anime

i understand there are some things thay take out also that american actors are not the best

but there are some really good dubs out there like cowboy bebop there are more but i cant think of any atm

i may have misunderstood about the betrayal but the rest is true isnt it?

also like i sead if i could learn jap i would love to watch it in the original lang its not that i like one more than the other more that

im more prone to liking something i can understand more than something i cant and thats true for alote of people

You can read. Thus you will understand. This is useless.

I don't hate people who watch dubbed anime. I disrespect them.

Some anime dubs are good I already said that. But you like Clannad's dub and asked for Toradora Dub. And you also prefered dub.

Its even worse when the dub DOESNT TRANSLATE CORRECTLY.

well i did say that

but there are a lot of words in jap that we don't have for English same with English to jap

sure there are sometimes translation problems but alot of that is just because translating some things are harder

and i couldn't care less if you disrespect me bec i like dubs

honestly if you think that much about it your thinking to much about it

your judging some one just bec they like to watch something in there own language

and that's really sad

that's like saying i like butter on my bread and you said bread should be eaten without condiments and you disrespected people who like condiments
it sounds silly when i say it that way but its the truth

Lol I just hate the whole" lets act like an anime character and speak broken Japanese" thing , it bugs the hell out of me , lol so I guess all of it haha .

I mean in terms of expression , of course the original language will always be better . No doubt about it . But I don't think I can ever rule out dubs entirely lol . Because even when you read subs, you are reading that persons interpretation on the expression.

So if the person translating isn't a very expressive person, the emotion might get lost in translation . This even happens with the more popular sub groups . Also the main reason why most dubs suck , actors with no emotion .

I disrespect and never think anything of it. I respond because you still pm'd me after I said I have the right to ignore. Im not an that much of an ass. Im not judging. You have a preference and I simply think its a bad one.

What you're comparing cannot be compared. They are 2 very different things fundamentally.

In this case of matter, its like saying K-on is better than something like Rurouni Kenshin or even cowboy bebop . I guarantee you that there are people who will back this statement up. But guess what, regardless of Opinion, this is indeed rubbish.

Anyways, I'm done debating about this.

I agree. I've watched many dubs in my life, and I actually always take a look at them when they become available. And yes, thats exactly why most dubs suck. But specifically for Japanese and how the Japanese language itself works. It's almost impossible to get everything if it were to be dubbed any other language.

Ie. Saying Hime and then it as to hide it, he says -gaki for Hime-gaki. This is impossible for probably any language I believe, obviously in english.

Some anime don't ever have this problem, but anything that isn't its original (specifically animation and language) will lose its CREATED value great or small no matter what.

while this is true, if you were studying japense and watched it, it would help. or if you watched it a lot you'd be familiar with the flow of the language whlie you learned it later on.
