Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu was really, really good imo. It has a great fantasy setting and consists of a great story and awesome fights (with magic).
Might be something for you to look into.

does anyone know a good site to dl it? Horriblesubs only has 320p version except for the [deadfish] and their torrent is going extremely slow for some reason >_>

I have to say I paused shakugan no shana to watch Densetsu and Densetsu seems really good, exactly the kind of style/type I like

+100fg to you good sir (also cause I like link to info/a short summary of what you thought about it etc just like your post, instead of a huge list of names but no info)

It's either that kind of magic style, or a more serious kind of ninja/samurai-type style (also with unrealistic special powers preferred)
