Ya, the more I think about it, the more I agree with everything you say.

I really think the reason DN is so highly regarded is that when most people saw it, it wasn't like anything they'd seen before - maybe it was mainstream all in all, but not for them. So it reserved that spot in your head for being completely and utterly awesome.

New goal: Watch a ton of anime. Go back and re-watch Death Note, see how it compares. I'll lyk results in a month or two.

Death Note is great to get someone into anime. But yea, tons of better ones out there.

Good choice, I love that one but if you are not into slow philosophical things you might not like it.

I'm all about that. I prefer it to action. Was going to try Claymore but wasn't on netflix so I gotta d/l it (hate watching things on my tiny/quiet laptop)

Claymore is on Netflix, that's where I watched it. Claymore is definitely one of my favorites, but Death Note is still my #1.

I thought the first part of DeathNote was good but after a "certain point" it was just unbearable for me to watch, but hey that is just me.
