I thought the show is pretty overated and horrible. The story develops very slow and the characters are not cereal enough/very annoying(brooke and the minotaur for example). All the story about so far is Luffy going to find enemies and fight them. Only part of the show that i thought was interesting was when they tried to rescue ace.

funny that you say that some characters are very annoying when you yourself have watched enough animes to be able to understand the different types of egos
i had always thought that people who watch anime tend to be very open minded doesn't seem to imply towards you since you find an anime character "annoying"
i guess that just proves how well the characters' personality is displayed in One Piece. i mean seriously? you let an anime character irritate you?
And also when you stated that the story is all about Luffy going to find enemies and fighting them. to me, this description seems very.. bland and very inaccurate.
if you haven't watched the intro of One Piece yet, he states he wants to become Pirate king, to becoming Pirate King he has to be the strongest so he fights and trains to become stronger...
what else were you expecting?
now i know you may think "well it fucking is", it's not and you've either haven't seen all of the episodes or your comprehension of art and literature is the equivalent to a 2nd grader. or both
but anyways, this can be done with any anime
Code Geass: All the story is about is some skinny kid who wants to be reunited with his daddy
Death Note: Some high school kid who wants the world to be a better place.
but obviously, both of these animes have more to them than these descriptions i just gave them
but then again are quite similar to your description of One Piece.
based on your paragraph of how bad One Piece is.. it seems like you started watching the anime with a biased opinion of "bad" that you got from your friends who've seen little bits and pieces of it.
