Have they stated somewhere that both eyes were needed for susanoo? I thought I saw something pertaining to that.

Yes, Itachi states that his abilities lie in his two eyes separately, and that Susanoo is a jutsu that requires both eyes (Mangekyou).
He says that his left eye is what generates Tsukuyomi, and his right is what generates Amaterasu. He teaches this to Sasuke during
their fight, I believe.

EDIT:
This does not seem to be as easy as judging that the right eye is used for ninjutsu, and the left as genjutsu simply
because Kakashi only possesses the left eye and is able to utilize Kamui, a ninjutsu (same applies for Obito).

Right off hand I don't think so.. I know they talked about "the other power that awakened with these eyes was susanno" but the only 3 people who have been shown are madara itachi and sasuke

I think its kind of stupid.. ninja are supposed to use their ultimate techniques in secrecy or w/e so that enemies can't counter it.. yet people keep spamming their ultimates like crazy.
Susanno is just a massive example.. Itachi used it as his last resort and it is all sasuke does..
Fight danzo? use susanno

Naruto is another example of this though.. although he just keeps making up rasengan combinations and calling them new techniques.. fucker has control of the nine tails.. learn some god damn hand signs and blow the world up

No, when referring to "calling them new techniques".. I am NOT talking about rasenshurriken. That is a legit new move but he is overusing it like hell
I am referring to the 50 variations.. rasengan, giant rasengan, mega ultra giant rasengan, rasengan barage, rasenryuken (can't remember-.-), he just keeps using the same fucking technique and calling it 50 different names and this is "An A ranked jutsu"

At least in the past sasuke used fire techniques, shuriken / kunai, chidori, taijutsu to a equal degree.. he didn't just chidori, mega chidori, super giant ultra chidori, chidori barage... you get the picture

When talking about these things, you must analyze the person of which you speak.
Sasuke:
He didn't immediately spam Susanoo on Danzo--watch the fight again. He did overuse it once he activated it though.
Should he have popped it on Itachi instantly? His Susanoo has a ranged attack, and Itachi was attempting to leave. So yes, it's justified.
When he fought the Zetsus it was to test his new EMS.

Naruto:
He never had a good library of ninjutsu under his belt before he learned Rasengan, so why would that change? He now knows an amazing jutsu, so why wouldn't he build off of that?
What lies in Naruto isn't the ability to learn a bevy of new jutsus, but rather the capability to adapt what he's already learned to fit certain circumstances.

Also, you must not be far in the series if you don't know that he can control the nine tails... If you aren't that far, I suggest not trying to argue with people on here.

obito popped sasuke to the feild, they spoke for 5 seconds and Danzo tried to rush sasuke. BOOM. Susanno
I know naruto never had a huge library but its not like he couldn't learn.. he has such an abundance of chakra and a great nature, with good control. Although its kind of like "Why learn something else.. he already has an ultimate wind jutsu".. Why not learn something else that is easier.. or at least go back to training so that you can one hand a rasengan.
He gets so dedicated to training that he can "master" (again, must use 2 hands) a super-difficult technique in a month but he hasn't ever tried learning hand sign jutsu other than summoning, which he does just like everyone else.

I agree. I think Kishimoto went overboard with buffing the sharingan. If nothing else, it completely undermines the other abilities of the members of the Uchiha clan. As soon as Sasuke got his sharingan powered up, he basically neglected everything else he learned besides the chidori and did nothing but spam his susanoo and the like. Makes the series really dull.
