Probably.. they want the viewer to forget about Sasuke so when Naruto will be in need, him and the 4 hokage will appear to save the day.
Probably 3-4 weeks of fighting.. then Obito says he saw Kakashi kill Rin, then Kakashi will tell a real story explaining why it happened for a month, maybe longer.. something along the lines of "it wasn't really Rin.. it was a parasite clone from Zetsu so Madara could control your feeble minded ass" obito will die or switch sides and it will be all vs Madara..
For the incoming question of "well why did they both get Mangenkyo Sharingan then!?".. I assume it is because Obito believed it was Rin.. and his sudden spike of emotion triggered it for both? Who knows.
The thing is.. I am curious how much of a threat Madara really is in the face of the 4 previous hokages... since the 3rd knows a pretty kick ass sealing jutsu.. 4th has shown he knows quite a few sealing jutsus from the Uzumaki clan.. in fact the only jutsus we have seen other than flying thundergod and rasengan have involved seals (and I guess teleporting away the kyuubi's blast.. but that WAS kind of a seal.. in the same way his flying thundergod uses a forumla placed on the person or kunai anyways soo...) that along with the fact that when he fought obito, he formed a contract seal to remove the kyuubi from his control in less than a second, I wonder if he could do a sealing jutsu in the same amount of time with the same general technique..
It is obvious madara is far above all kage at this point since he controls the 1sts power, his own power, and the rinnegan (although that is his own power it is something he didn't exhibit during his and the 1sts fight.. he awakened it after so we don't know how it would compare to the 1sts techniques.)
Another thing that kind of irritates me is the only real use of the rinnegan the way I feel it was intended was when Nagato was edo tensei'd and fought Naruto, Bee, and Itachi.. So I hope Madara flips his switch and starts using all the paths in one body vs the 4 previous kage + Sasuke + Naruto..
