He attacked the hidden cloud to kidnap Killer Bee and "succeeds", attacks the 5 kage's at the summit + kills a dozen of their samurai guards and then he kills Danzo, who iirc was none other than the Hokage at that time. I don't think he gets to just walk away from this.
Naruto won't be just the hokage, he'll be the first mega-kage over the 5 countries united into 1. There's his dream completed, no more war, no more hate and all that. The current alliance is just the first step. Naruto already have the complete trust from Gaara's Sand and Tsunade's Leaf so there's 2/5. Something involving Killer Bee will earn him Raikage's vote. Maybe Raikage died and Bee gets promoted? Whatever happens i'm certain this is where the show is headed.
I hope Minato will teach Naruto some epic space/time jutsu. Naruto haven't encountered a jutsu yet he couldn't master. *fingers crossed*
Sasuke walks with the support of the most powerful ninja in the village, and might the former Hokage might give voice which could go a long way for exoneration.
This is an anime where people like Itachi slaughter all of his his kinsmen. There has already been some foreshadowing in the latest manga, as the former kage had admittedly that something could have been done differently.
The situation sands as follows: There were uncertainties that caused the slaughtering of many village ninja, and it was kept hidden from people. It would not be unreasonable for somebody to lash out the way Sasuke had.
The current Hokage, Tsunade, might be dead. So it begs the question of who the next Hokage might be? It could be Kakashi, or it could be Naruto for all we know (he might become more than the village hero, but a regional/world hero).
