Well, these ARE ninjas we're talking about here. They're trained to go for the easy kill. If it's as simple as wood clone -> stab from behind against an opponent like Madara, of course Hashirama is going to take it. All of the fights in this series involve deception. You know that characters like Madara and Hashirama are going to have words as the battle ends. What better setting than with Hashirama's sword in Madara's back as the latter is dying?

Ok cool, but what does this have to do with my response to konvicted? read what konvicted wrote and read what I wrote. I was complaining that kill methods was too similar, and he responded saying "hashirama was the only one that could creep up on madara" which had nothing to do with my complaint. hashirama's ability to creep up on another person has nothing to do with anything.

But you're right, i guess this is the generic ninja kill, even though as ninjas they should be trained to never let their guard down. i was just disappointed that the author had to resort to this default kill method.

Yeah, I understand your complaint. It would be nice to see the God of Shinobi finish off Madara with something a little more creative than a wood clone/sword to the back trick. If Hashirama drove a huge wooden stake through Madara's torso and destroyed his body, that wouldn't leave much opportunity to have some last words, lol. They take that approach because it's SO EASY to pull off as far as final words to your opponent and whatnot.
