Can get full DVD volumes of non animated series' for 20-30$ and they charge an assload for anime volumes

more work goes into anime since every frame of the series has to be drawn then aslo lip synced with the VO, where as normal T.V series are easily made using a Camera & MIC and acting
i will assume most anime runs at a 30+ fps so thats 30 pictures for 1 second

20mins average ep = 1200 seconds = 36000+ redrawn frames, working with a team makes things easier but still more work than holding a camera & MIC at some actors

/e and revenues from anime franchises is all in the merchandise not the series sales.
