then later when Beerus slapped Bulma in DBS

Don't think it works like that.

We have no idea how it works. All we know about Saiyans is that once one of them reaches a certain level, the others are usually quick to follow. Vegeta reached god mode and he didn't do the ritual Goku did, it's reasonable to believe that Trunks after decades of aggression was able to release all of it into some form of transcended/god form.

Honestly though, who gives a shit. Trunks is going to kick their ass for a minute and then die. It's not like him jumping WAY past what we expected for him is going to break the story. I'm just hoping we get to see Vegeta lose his shit after they kill his kid.
