madara unlocked the rinnegan and gave it to nagato in hopes that nagato will resurrect him with the outer path: samsara of heavenly life when the time was right....... nagato was given the rinnegan before obito even came into the picture



he found out how to undo the edo tensei and unsummoned all the previously summoned dead people that kabuto resurrected including himself

You know, I've pondered over this myself. If you need Uchiha + Senju DNA to use the Rinnegan, doesn't everyone already have it? Both of those lineages trace back to ONE person, Rikudo Sennin.

technically he did control himself via kotoamatsukami

also, it's the power of the uchiha+ senju that grants them those special abilities.. not the dna itself is how i understood it... hence tobi kept saying "you need the power of both uchiha and senju"

and now tobi has the rinnegan, does he know how to use it?
