to be honest... somebody like Coby actually being Luffys equal just seems boring and annoying.
Coby is still a coward, he has been since he met Luffy.

a real rival for Luffy should be someone that has always been strong, not some noob who literally couldnt move during the war at headquarters.

The whole point of coby is for him to overcome his fear and become stronger to stop luffy... he met luffy but for him luffy gave him the inspiration that he needed to succeed.

look at all the other rivals in the show, none of them are like that.
they were naturally strong, u cant just up and decide u want to work hard and become as strong or stronger than Luffy.
especially not when u were so weak to begin with, i dont see Coby ever equaling Luffy...ever.
