you mean about manga? cause i am fairly certain only in a few(if that as i havent read every single manga) has it where the main character doesnt save the day, doesnt even have to be fighting manga.

maito gai needs to destroy madara so he can get the respect he deserves! My guess is he and lee(i honestly dont know of another taijutsu monster outside of raikage maybe) will team up with some 7 gates make slight progress and gai will decide to go 8 gates with lee actually dealing the final blow along with maybe a seal team.
