Is it not implied? Elder got the eyes(Chakras and spirit energy), younger got the body(Life force and physical energy). And meh, I never paid attention to his eyes, I just read it. There seem to be some theories on that, though.

the elder most likely had some pretty bad ass ocular abilities but i doubt he had the abilities of the rinn i.e the 7 paths but this is an assumption as i said above we have absolute 0 evidence of the elders abilities all we can discern is that to use the rinnigian powers you need a rinn, the elder eyes are clearly not the eyes of the rinn
